This beautiful sea beach & tourist sport on Bay of Bengal is located in Sundarban area of south 24Parganas district. It is under Namkhana Block & under Freserganj Gram Panchyet. Local Police Station is Freserganj Costal P.S. under Kakdip Subdivision.

Henry's Island

Henry’s Island gets its name from a European, who in 19th century, surveyed this area mainly covered in mangrove forest. From Bakkhali it is a 4 km ride via car & 2.5 km via rickshaw vans. The beach of the Henry’s Island is rocky and muddy, standing opposite to the Lothian Island’s forest. The Fisheries Department of West Bengal has set up some cottages and a pisciculture project here to attract tourists, where breeding and cultivation of prawns and fishes are done. There are 32 large ponds dug by Fisheries Department on 201 Hectares of land. Among this 201 hectare of land, 150 hectare is alloted for fish cultivation and as tourist destination . The remaining 51 hectare is a natural mangrove forest . 

Trees like Goran, Kankra, Hetal, Bani, Gewan and Sundari, grow naturally here. Since the island was once an extension of Suderbans, wild animals such as wild pig, Deer, Jackals, fishing cat, Mongoose, snakes and different kinds of wild cat can be seen. Henry’s Island is also popular as a bird watching location. Fishes like Katla, Telapia, prawns, Parshe, Bhangon, Bhetki, and Tangra are available. During netting, fishes can be purchased by tourists.

Kalisthan

Its 7 km from bakkhali and situated along the coast and the deep vivid green mangrove forest. First you have to travell by car on fine road, the after 1 km on brick road and at last you will reach your destination.

Fraserganj

 A Wind Energy Farm that generates 1MW and is soon going to be extended to produce 2 MW is located in Fraserganj.The windmills of this farm are lined up on Fraserganj beach and this power is utilized by the Bakkhali Island. Fishing is the chief occupation of the residents of Frasergunj and there is a Government operated fishing harbour too.  

Jambu Dwip

Visitors can reach Jambu Dweep just 8 km from Bakkhali by a boat ride. This southern-most island remains uninhabited for few months as it goes underwater during that time. Once it resurfaces, temporary houses are built by fishermen. This is basically a Reserve Forest covering an area of 1950 hectares, which is home to many water birds and covered by mangrove trees. Apart from the human habitation, a common sight is mud crabs. Generally a motorised state boat takes approx 40 minutes to reach Jambu Dwip from Frazerganj Fishing Harbour.

Sagar Island

A large uninhabited island of 300 sq. km, Gangasagar or Sagar is located, where the River Hooghly meets the sea. To reach Sagar, guests have to drive 20 km back from Bakkhali to Namkhana and then avail the ferry service to cross Muriganga to arrive at Sagar Island’s Kachuberia jetty. The Gangasagar Mela that is organised in January on Makar Sankranti is known to attract millions of Hindu pilgrims to this island, to the temple of Kapil Muni and take a dip where Ganges meets the Bay of Bengal. This island is also a popular bird watching spot due to its agricultural habitat, small river channels and mangrove swamps.

The tourist attractions in this island are Sagar Marine Park and Kapil Muni temple at Southern part of the island, Beguakhali port and Sagar Lighthouse. The point of entrance to the Wind Mills and Mangrove forest, the point, which lights up the island, Chimaguri Mudflat is another venue that might interest the visitors. Mainly the Sagar Mela and the pilgrimage that happens in the southern tip of the Ganges delta is the highlight of this island.

Bhagabatpur Crocodile Project in Sunderbans

The Bhagabatpur Crocodile Project in the Sunderbans is home to numerous crocodiles varying in their age. This is a crocodile-breeding farm that harbours largest number of estuarine crocodiles in India. Tourists can have a glimpse of the crocodiles from newborns to the adults in this hatchery and sanctuary. From Namkhana, travellers can reach the project by boarding a ferry. West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC) and West Bengal Tourism Department regularly organises conducted tours by motorised launches to Bhagabatpur.
