How to reach Bakkhali - Frezarganj

You can reach Bakkhali through different modes of communication from Kolkata.

By Road

It is 125 km away by road from Joka tram terminus at the south-western edge of Kolkata. The road runs through Diamond Harbour and Kakdwip to Namkhana, where the car or bus has to be transported across the Hatania-Doania Bridge. It is a smooth and hassle-free journey all the way from Joka to Bakkhali. The 130 km stretch from Kona expressway (with links to the Mumbai and Delhi sections of the golden quadrangle project linking the four metros of India) to Bakkhali has been marked as National Highway (NH) 12.

By Bus

WBSTC has regular bus services from Esplanade to Bakkhali. You can reach  Bakkhali easily from Kolkata by NH 12. Bakkhali-bound buses are available at Esplanade(Kolkata) . WBCSTC has direct bus services from Esplanade(Kolkata) to Bakkhali . Private bus services are also available after every 15 to 20 minutes.

By Train

The nearest rail station is at Namkhana. There are regular trains from Sealdah via Lakshmikantapur and Kakdwip to Namkhana. The journey takes around 3 hrs. From Namkhana station you will get a van rickshaw to reach the bus stand where Bakkhali-bound buses are available which take around 45mins to 1hr with a fare bellow Rs.30. By reserved Maruti van or Toto you can also reach Bakkhali. The Bakkhali bus stand is in close proximity to all the hotels and just a 5 mins walk from the beach.     

By Air

The nearest airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra (NSC) Bose International Airport  at northern Kolkata. It is located approximately 17 km away from Kolkata's City Centre. Bakkhali is about 130 km or a 4 hrs bus or Cab ride from Kolkata.
